Missoula Gives 2024

Missoula Gives is a 26-hour online celebration of our community. It connects generous Missoulians with the causes they care about. It is a day to celebrate the role local nonprofits play in making our community great.

Missoula Gives Events

Here at Missoula Compost we work closely with a number of nonprofits focused on sustainability:

  • Home ReSource: Most folks know Home ReSource for their ReUse Store on Wyoming St. You may not know that behind the scenes at some of your favorite community events, the Home ReSource team is working to reduce waste and build a more sustainable Missoula. Zero Waste AF! supports a systems approach to a future with less waste.

  • Soil Cycle: Soil Cycle's mission is to promote the natural food cycle by providing environmentally sustainable compost services and education.

  • MUD Project: MUD’s tool library allows members to accomplish nearly any project imaginable – home repair, lawn maintenance, landscaping, carpentry, beekeeping, canning, and the list goes on – all with shared tools. An inventory of over 3,000 tools brings do-it-yourself projects within the reach of everyone, helping our community to achieve more with less.

  • Garden City Harvest:Garden City Harvest offers Farm to School programming at no cost to public schools. It is in the schools year round with hands-on, dig in the dirt and eat kale programming that changes kids’ daily lives. It is designed to meet educational standards in math and science.

  • Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium :A trip to the Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium is not only educational, but also restorative …rekindling the kind of natural curiosity and sense of wonder some of us may have forgotten years ago.

  • Ecology Project International:EPI's Missoula Gives campaign directly benefits local Montana youth by providing access to high-quality environmental education. Together, we can inspire a generation to cherish and protect the ecosystems that sustain us all.
