Missoula’s Trailblazers

Why Compost?

  • Composting helps businesses divert organic waste, such as food scraps and plant materials, from landfills.

  • Composting can lead to cost savings by reducing waste disposal fees, which are often based on the weight of waste sent to landfills.

Implementing composting practices can lower overall waste management costs for businesses.

  • Implementing composting initiatives can engage employees and contribute to a positive workplace culture. Composting fosters a sense of pride in the community and environmental responsibility in participants.

  • Separating organics from landfill and recycling containers at your restaurant or food related business allows you to visually see how much waste is being created. This could bring awareness to those carrots that aren't being chopped all the way to the top or how much is wasted at the end of the day.

  • Enhance your company’s reputation by supporting local. Missoula Compost is a locally owned and operated LLC.

Participate in Missoula’s circular economy by supporting local business, reducing local waste, rescuing local resources, and building local soil; all while saving on waste costs.
